Interviewer: Thank you for joining us today, Sanjay. Can you start by telling us a little about yourself and your journey into acting?
Sanjay Das: Thank you for having me. I’m Sanjay Das, originally from a small town in Uttar Pradesh. Acting has always been my passion, ever since I was a child. I moved to Bombay five years ago to pursue my dream of becoming an actor. It’s been a challenging journey, but I’m determined to make it.
Interviewer: What inspired you to pursue a career in acting?
Sanjay Das: Growing up, I was fascinated by Bollywood movies and the larger-than-life characters. I used to participate in school plays and local theater, which fueled my passion for acting. Watching actors like Shah Rukh Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who also started from humble beginnings, inspired me to believe that I could do it too.
Interviewer: What has been the biggest challenge you’ve faced since moving to Bombay?
Sanjay Das: The biggest challenge has been getting noticed. Bombay is full of aspiring actors, and the competition is intense. It’s not just about talent; it’s also about networking and being at the right place at the right time. Financial stability is another challenge, as acting gigs are not consistent and often don’t pay well.
Interviewer: How do you cope with the uncertainties and rejections in the industry?
Sanjay Das: It’s tough, no doubt. Rejections are part of the process, and each one teaches you something. I try to stay positive and keep honing my skills. I attend acting workshops, watch a lot of movies and plays, and try to learn from every experience. My family and friends have been a great support system, keeping me motivated.
Interviewer: Can you share a memorable experience from your journey so far?
Sanjay Das: One of the most memorable experiences was when I got a small role in a web series. It wasn’t a big part, but it was my first significant break. Being on set, working with a professional crew, and seeing myself on screen was incredibly rewarding. It gave me a taste of what I’m striving for and motivated me to keep going.
Interviewer: What are your future aspirations and goals in the acting industry?
Sanjay Das: My ultimate goal is to become a versatile actor, someone who can take on a variety of roles and be recognized for my craft. I aspire to work with renowned directors and be part of projects that challenge me as an actor. I also want to contribute to meaningful cinema that can inspire and entertain audiences.
Interviewer: What advice would you give to other aspiring actors who are struggling to make it?
Sanjay Das: My advice would be to never give up on your dreams. It’s a tough industry, and the road is filled with obstacles, but persistence and hard work do pay off. Keep learning, stay passionate, and surround yourself with positive influences. Believe in yourself, and don’t be afraid to take risks.
