Interviewer: What attracted you to data science specifically?
Priya Sharma: The ability to uncover hidden insights from data and use those insights to drive decision-making fascinated me. Data science combines my love for mathematics with the challenge of solving real-world problems, which is very rewarding.
Interviewer: Can you tell us about a project you’ve worked on that you’re particularly proud of?
Priya Sharma: One project that stands out is developing a predictive model for a healthcare company to identify patients at risk of chronic diseases. By analyzing patient data, we were able to predict high-risk patients with a high degree of accuracy, allowing the company to take preventive measures and improve patient outcomes.

Priya Sharma: A typical day involves a mix of data cleaning, exploratory data analysis, building and validating models, and interpreting the results. I also spend time collaborating with other teams to understand their data needs and how best to leverage data to solve their problems. Additionally, I keep myself updated with the latest research and tools in data science.

Priya Sharma: Focus on building a strong foundation in statistics and programming. Gain practical experience by working on projects and participating in competitions like Kaggle.
